Some people will say that you don’t have the skill or talent to be an entrepreneur! However, everyone has talent to be a successful entrepreneur. You just need to do a little soul searching and find out what it is that you are good at. So your very first step is to eliminate all of those negative Nancy’s in your life. Delete their number on your phone, unfriend them and block them on Facebook, and completely ignore them. These people are a cancer and cause nothing but problems for everybody.
For all those out there that are naturally good at speaking, that are great on camera, that are great on the phone, that are a big YouTuber’s or influencer’s with millions of followers.
That’s fine! That’s ok for you.
But what about those who don’t have any natural talents? Well, first of all, we all have natural talents in something. It is up to you to dig deep and find out what it is.
What about us?
What about people that don’t have that?
Are we not allowed to make money?
Are we not allowed to be in business?
That’s why I do what I do. I teach people people how to create a business, doing what I do.
When we think of the word entrepreneur, we tend to think of people like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Dan Price, and Shay Rowbottom. These people are visionaries in their respective companies with a certain set of skills and traits that have allowed them to achieve greatness. These are what we call role models, and what every aspiring entrepreneur should have and follow. To be a successful entrepreneur you study what these people are doing that makes them successful, and you imitate them.
Entrepreneurship is about developing your unique talent and skill set. Many entrepreneurs seem to fall somewhere in the middle of having talent and skills. Most importantly, entrepreneurs are strong believers in themselves. Entrepreneurs like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Dan Price are convinced that entrepreneurs are born not made. Shay Rowbottom is an example of an entrepreneur who is self-made. She had innate talent as a musician and developed her skills in video marketing to help business owners do the same. So, what you really need is a the motivation and the right mindset to develop your talent and skills to become a successful entrepreneur.
So What is the Entrepreneurial Mindset?
Entrepreneurship is set of innate traits that is perfected with time through learning and experience. You have to be a continual learner! You have to constantly study what is working and what is not working, and come up with innovative ways to solve what is not working anymore.
Not everyone can be a good entrepreneur just like not everyone can be a good actor. However, with time and experience, you can become a good entrepreneur if you are not afraid of failure and look back at those failures as mistakes to be avoided. That is part of having the right entrepreneurial mindset.
So an entrepreneurial mindset by definition is a set of skills that enable people to identify and make the most of opportunities, overcome and learn from setbacks, and succeed in a variety of settings. Having the right entrepreneurial mindset can make you more adaptable to the rapid changes in today’s marketplace. Scott Livengood, an instructor of ASU Continuing and Professional Education entrepreneurship courses and assistant professor in the W.P. Carey School of Business, stated that “those who are able to identify problems or opportunities and then work to generate creative solutions to those issues can also improve situations in their personal lives and those of others.” Your mess becomes your message!
According to Neil Patel, 90 percent of entrepreneurs who build a startup will fail. Motivation, talent, and skill are keys to the success of small business owners and entrepreneurs, but most entrepreneurs lack motivation and have the wrong mindset.
Here Are 5 Things You Can Do to Develop an Entrepreneurial Mindset
- Continuous learning. Successful entrepreneurs never think that they know it all.
- Accept failure and learn from it. Successful entrepreneurs are the one’s that allow for failure to occur so they can learn from it. We all failed at something in school. It may be because of lack of studying, or it could be you just did not understand the concepts that well to comprehend it.
- Successful entrepreneurs choose carefully their emotional battles and avoid stressing about things that they can’t change.
- Stay in the present moment. Do not dwell on the past. Understand the past and learn from it. Don’t fixate on it.
- Celebrate the success of others. When someone achieves greatness, give them a shout out on social media to celebrate it.
